A serial entrepreneur and an experienced Chief Executive Officer, I have worked extensively in several different industries.
Skilled in negotiation, marketing management, business planning, and international business. I have always operated on a global scope, and that has allowed me to assess the potential of Portugal’s hidden little treasures and gauge how the world pastry market was ready for them.
Olympic swimmer in Seoul ’88, all the training, competitive mindset, dedication, and motivation I have acquired as a top athlete are now invested in BY Foods.

I’m an experienced financial manager. My work has given me a breadth of managerial and operative skills in a variety of industries.
In Angola, I managed finances for both a large auto importer and distributor as well as the country’s only home appliance producer, eventually administrating the latter’s group
In Brazil, I acted in a controller capacity for a large consortium spanning multiple industries.
Back in Portugal, I gladly accepted the challenge to take these treats to the top.

Launched my first company at the age of 23. An advertising agency, which connected me to the early stage of the BY Foods project.
As a creative director, I was able to lead award-winning projects and record-breaking campaigns.
The potential of this little national treasure, called pastel de nata, made me change my professional life radically.

A foodie first and foremost, a skilled chef and food industry operative. I ran my own confectionery/coffee shop, managing a team of 25.
I specialized in pastry, Italian cuisine, and fine dining, and worked in the kitchen of Michelin-starred chef Rui Paula.
I’m also involved in humanitarian work, volunteering in several organizations.
This combination of people skills and technical know-how prepared me well to embrace this project.

I graduated in Management with a master’s in International Business and worked across plenty of industries, such as power tools, furniture, and personal protective equipment. I accrued experience in sales, negotiation, and problem solving, and developed a sensibility for anticipating needs and developing long-term business relationships.
As an enthusiast of Portuguese history and all things multicultural, working here makes me return 500 years to the past and become a Portuguese sailor, once again promoting our culture and getting to know new realities.

Working in the food industry in a quality, safety, and environment management capacity gave me the experience to deal with customer complaints and returns, specs data, and tech sheets; as well as audits, analytical control, shelf life, labeling, development, and worker training and awareness.
I was a research fellow at the Agrarian Higher School of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança – working on microbiological and physicochemical characteristics of four new types of honey, that were previously not researched.
I focus absolutely on an incessant search for improvement, keeping me resilient, tenacious, and humble to grow with an open mind and able to deal with what the future may bring.

My master’s degree in Food Science and Technology and professional experiences in the food and beverage sector have provided me with the knowledge and skills to explore and contribute to the food technology sector, and hopefully to BY Foods.
As a child, I faced some challenges with food, but over time, I started to appreciate the beauty of cooking, eating, and, most importantly, sharing meals with the people we love. Saying this it’s a pleasure to align this passion with science and technology. Cooking is my love language, and I aspire to develop it further as a food scientist.
